Sumaco Napo Galeras National Park

 5 to 7 days

The area of the Sumaco Napo Galeras National Park is made up of 205,249 hectares and it´s altitude levels range from 500 meters to 3,732 meters thus creating a wide diversity of climates including hot, humid sub-tropical rainforest to windswept highlands.  It is hotter with more rain in the lower areas and colder in the higher altitudes with an average annual precipitation of 6 meters.  Apart from being one of the highest of its kind on the planet the diversity of climates privileges the park to be one of the few areas where so many micro climates come together in a small area creating many different ecological systems of an immense biodiversity. This park has recently been designated by international commissions as “World Biosphere Reserve” and along with another 54 other areas, the park extends to 901,930 hectares. No one lives in these areas, except for the enormous variety of plants and animals, such as the jaguar, speckled bear, puma, monkeys and tapirs  as well as an infinite number of bird species, the Sumaco-Napo-Galeras flora and fauna are one of their own and hide medicinal and nutritional secrets which could be priceless for the future of humanity.
