22 – A course for Guides in the Amazon region: Module One' took place in the community of Mondaña in the canton of Tena from 01/ 10/ 2011 to 09/ 12/ 2012, for a total duration of 182 hours. It was carried out in association with the Yachana Foundation, the Ministry of Tourism and the Multilateral Investment Fund, part of the BID Group. The course dealt with hospitality, Spanish language development, English, First Aid, lifesaving and survival, environmental and tourism laws, leadership and management of conflicts, national realities, work ethics, etiquette and protocol. The executive director was Douglas McMeekin and the headmaster was José Forteza.
