Nacional park Sumaco Napo Galeras

  6 to 7 days trekking

 


1st day. Leave from Tena in taxi for around 2 ½ days until the community of Pacto Sumaco, pay the entrance fee to the park ($8 for foreigners and $4 for nationals). Then we walk for 5 hours, rest, lunch and then continue the walk until the first refuge, dinner and rest.

2nd day. Breakfast, and then we continue the walk down the path for around 6 hours, rest and lunch, walk until the second rest then continue until the second refuge, swim in the lagoon of the Huaca Sumaco volcano at an altitude of 2300 masl. Panoramic view dinner then rest.

3rd day. Breakfast walk for around 4 hours until the 3rd refuge, lunch and rest, dinner then night walk.

4th day. Breakfast, walk until the Summit of the Sumaco volcano where you can appreciate the fantastic magic of the crater and the enormous panoramic view offered by the nature of the Amazonia, with a bit of luck the big chief JUMANDY will give us a great granite shower. Return until the 2nd refuge, swim in the lagoon, dinner, and bonfire and cocktail.

5th day, breakfast return to the 1st refuge, lunch rest, and if tou have any energy left we can make a short walk to observe the birds in the area, dinner and rest.

6th day. Breakfast, and leave, lunch on route to the community of Pacto Sumaco. Taxi to Tena and end of tour.

7th day. City tour of Tena with a visit to the Park of the Island and the areas, transfer to Misahualli to the park of the capuchin monkeys, lunch and during the afternoon swim in the river Misahualli with a beautiful beach with white sand, ride in canoe along the river Napo and the kichwa communities.

PRICE PER PERSON PER DAY: 2 pax $ 90.00 - 3 pax $ 85.00 - 4 pax $ 80.00 - 5 pax $ 75.00 - 6 pax $ 70.00

PRICE INCLUDES: Return Terrestrial transport, food, water, rubber boots, rain coats, accommodation in the refuges, certified bilingual guide and native guide of the park.

Recommended a minimum of 2 people with a maximum of 10

Bring sleeping bags and sleeping mats, light clothes, good torches, and binoculars as there are a great quantity of birds in the area.

ALTITUD OF THE VOLCANO SUMACO 3.732 MT.
THE LAST ERUPTION WAS IN THE YEAR 1940 OR 1941 FROM THEN ON IT HAS REMAINED DORMANT.

Not included: Breakfast on the first day or dinner on the last, or the
entrance to the Park Sumaco.
